the cost aspect
The original idea of the monograph was created as a result of reflecting on the economic and managerial aspects of quality in the perspective of two concepts, namely: comprehensive quality management (TQM) and Value Based Management (VBM). The subject of the monograph are quality costs, their definitions, models and selected issues in the area of cost management (methods, techniques and tools).
Experience in the field of quality management shows that the most important issue is to develop a quality strategy, which should be supported by an accurate diagnosis of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, implemented by asking the following questions:
• What is our customer satisfaction level?
• Where are the defects / quality deficiencies and what are their external and internal causes?
Too often, external factors (pressure, competition, an increasingly demanding market, the use of new technologies, obligations arising from standards) play a stimulating role, affect the operating time, formalism, margin of maneuver and lead to failure (e.g. introducing quality circles without an overall strategy). , developing projects and quality guides without being related to the global policy of the organization, sensitizing staff to quality without appropriate quality management methods). The success of your quality assurance projects comes with the ability to challenge your company’s existing organization.

Quality costs - selected aspects
The aim of the book is to present, develop and systematize the general problem of quality costs in terms of: economic and organizational quality, quality management taking into account the value parameter, useful in the management of modern quality. The synthetic form of the book is based on the assumption that it will be more useful for the quality management staff in the enterprise to get to know the essence of the discussed issues in practice. For this reason, the analytical accounting and financial approach to the presented content was omitted, which also determines the substantive scope of the book.
The subject of the book are quality costs, their definitions, models and selected issues in the area of cost management (methods, techniques and tools). The conducted analysis of the literature made it possible to select the presented content, hence the layout of the book was designed to indicate and justify the reasons why it is necessary to include the quality cost system in enterprise management and to emphasize the relationship between quality costs and the assessment of effectiveness, as well as the improvement of the company’s operations. A specific attribute of the book is an attempt to combine the achievements of science from various disciplines, which allows to describe selected perspectives of the contemporary understood costs of quality.
