Quality management
the cost aspect

The original idea of the monograph was created as a result of reflecting on the economic and managerial aspects of quality in the perspective of two concepts, namely: comprehensive quality management (TQM) and Value Based Management (VBM). The subject of the monograph are quality costs, their definitions, models and selected issues in the area of cost management (methods, techniques and tools).

Experience in the field of quality management shows that the most important issue is to develop a quality strategy, which should be supported by an accurate diagnosis of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, implemented by asking the following questions:
• What is our customer satisfaction level?
• Where are the defects / quality deficiencies and what are their external and internal causes?

Too often, external factors (pressure, competition, an increasingly demanding market, the use of new technologies, obligations arising from standards) play a stimulating role, affect the operating time, formalism, margin of maneuver and lead to failure (e.g. introducing quality circles without an overall strategy). , developing projects and quality guides without being related to the global policy of the organization, sensitizing staff to quality without appropriate quality management methods). The success of your quality assurance projects comes with the ability to challenge your company’s existing organization.
